The NW Dragons took a moment off the field this week to celebrate some of the hardest-working members of their team – the ground staff. Hosting their annual appreciation braai, the Dragons players and management expressed gratitude to the team responsible for keeping the field fresh and the pitch in perfect condition.
“Our groundstaff are the backbone of our operations,” said Vice-Captain Lesiba Ngoepe. “Without their hard work and attention to detail, we wouldn’t be able to perform at our best. Today was just a small way for us to say thank you and show how much we appreciate their efforts.”
Head Coach Craig Alexander echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the importance of this annual tradition.
“This braai is more than just a gesture; it’s a reminder of how crucial every member of the Dragons family is to our success,” Coach Alexander shared. “Taking time to appreciate the groundstaff is something we’ve done for years and something we’ll continue to do. They’re the unsung heroes who ensure we have world-class conditions to play on, and they deserve this recognition.”
The event was filled with warmth, good food, and plenty of laughs as players and groundstaff connected over shared stories and reflected on the dedication it takes to bring a season to life.
The Dragons are proud to honor the behind-the-scenes heroes who ensure every game day runs smoothly and remains unforgettable for players and fans alike.
